How does the remote Code Generation Work?

Inside the lock is a computer chip that runs a complex algorithm. This algorithm is able to to compute what the code should be during any given time period. One way to think of it is that the lock is pre-loaded with codes. For example, if you wanted to give your guest access to your property from Friday at 2:00pm to Sunday at 12:00pm, your lock would already know that the code should be, say, 12345678. Now you just need something that will tell you (and only you) what your lock already knows. Amazingly you don't even need internet access to do this - only the software which can be on one or more computers or laptops so you can do this from anywhere. You'll never have to deal with intermittent network hub connections which are necessary with some locks that are network driven.





How easy is it to program this lock?

1.Your guest finds your rental property through the internet or newspaper and reserves it for their vacation stay. For instance, from January 15th to January 30th, 2012.

2.You simply run the Remote Management software program on your own computer or Online Management Website (Please note that with the R-300 and R-500 this can be done with the software only), put in the check-in date/time - on January 15th 2012 at 12:00pm, check-out date/time - on January 30, 2012 at 1:00pm, and then the Remote software encrypts the check-in and check-out date/time to generate a 10-digit Access Code. After that you can email, phone, or fax the Access Code to your guest.

3.Your guests arrive. After 12:00pm on January 15th 2012 they enter the Access Code into the lock on your door; the then decrypts the Access Code to get the check-in and check-out date/time you preset, verifies if the current date/time is in between the check-in and check-out date/time, and unlocks the door. Your guest then can create a user-friendly 3-6 digit personalized code and use it to access your property during their vacation stay. After 1:00pm on January 30th 2012 both the access code and personalized code becomes invalid automatically. Should the first renter leave early, when the next renter enters a new user code it will automatically negate the first code for greater security.
