How weather resistant is the RocLok?

The exterior shell of the RocLok Hide a Key is comprised of a polymer modified concrete blend. In laymen's terms, there are ad mixtures inside the concrete that prevents moisture from penetrating the outer shell. The additives allows water to roll off the surface and protects the shell from breaking apart during temperature changes. Our key hiding chamber has been engineered to form an inverted cup shape when in the downward position. If you've ever tried to sink a drinking cup in a tub of water with the mouth down you know that the air inside the hollow void won't allow the cup to sink. Our key storage chamber applies the same principal. The inverted chamber forms an air pocket around the keys keeping water from coming into contact.



How well does the RocLok Age?

Much like your driveway changes with time, your RocLok will adapt with its environment over time. Unlike plastic or resin key hiders whose coloring tends to fade with prolonged exposure to UV rays, our product is tinted using a concrete stain rated for outdoor use. The color will not fade however UV rays can alter the original shade. Additionally, like a natural stone, the RocLok will collect dirt from its surroundings, can grow moss if desired allowing it to continue to blend-in throughout the years.

How many keys does a RocLok hold?



Every RocLok has the same large key hiding chamber measuring 2 inches wide by 3 inches long with a depth of 3/8-th of an inch. We have tested the capacity of the chamber with the largest door keys available on the market from Baldwin, Emtek and Medeco and were easily able to fit 6 at one time as illustrated in the photo below.
