There have been a lot
of questions about this product so the following FAQ should help:
Q: How does the Turner work?
A: The Turner is a single-cylinder deadbolt that locks from the outside with one quick, keyless turn. A rotating metal collar on the outside of the Turner eliminates the extra step of having to insert a key. When you leave your home, simply rotate the Turner's outer collar. This engages the deadbolt, securely locking your door as if you had turned the mechanism with a key.
Q: Is the Turner a single-cylinder or double-cylinder deadbolt lock?
A: The Turner lock is a single-cylinder deadbolt lock.
Q: What is the difference between a double-cylinder and single-cylinder deadbolt lock?
A: A single-cylinder deadbolt has a keyed cylinder on the outside of the home and a thumb-turn on the inside. A double-cylinder deadbolt has a keyed cylinder on both the outside and inside of the home. Because a double-cylinder deadbolt does not have an interior thumb-turn, a key is needed to lock and unlock your door while inside. Many police and fire departments do not recommend the use of a double-cylinder deadbolt, and using a double-cylinder deadbolt is actually against building codes in many areas of the country.
Q: What size door does the Turner fit?
A: The Turner lock fits standard-sized doors (1-3/4" to 2" thick).
Q: Is the Turner's backset adjustable?
A: Yes, it has an adjustable backset (2-3/8" to 2-3/4").
Q: What size screws does the Turner use?
A: Instead of using the typical 1-1/2" screws, the Turner is installed with 3" jam screws, greatly increasing your level of security. The 3" screws anchor the strike to the door frame and make your door highly resistant to kick-in attacks. In addition, the main lock mounting screws are made of high tensile-strength steel (120,000 PSI) and can withstand 8,000 lbs. of force. This makes it almost impossible to hammer the Turner off your door.
Q: Will the Turner lock fit the hole in my existing door?
A: The Turner lock fits the standard 2-1/8" cross bore opening.
Q: Is the Turner reversible to fit left and right side doors?
A: The Turner comes ready to install on a right hand door, but it can easily be reversed to fit a left hand door. Simply moving one screw is all that is required to make the Turner fit a left hand door.
Q: What type of keyway does the Turner use?
A: The Turner lock is offered as a KW-1 and a SC-4 keyway. Please contact customer service to inquire about other keyways.
Q: Can the Turner be re-keyed to match the keyway on my current locks at home?
Q: What keyway does the lock have?

A: The Turner lock is currently offered with KW and SC keyways. The Turner can easily be re-keyed to match the locks on your home if your current lock cylinders are either KW1 or SC1.
